It is a fun place to be at. It was my first time and I felt myself very calm and relaxed. There's a strange soothing effect watching ducks and sea lions making that noise yet perfectly assembling into nature.

A ton of fun stuff to do! Wipeout to-go food station was delicious! Highly recommend the fish tacos! The Soaring over San Fran ride was cool too, but not worth a long wait in my opinion. Ton of shops to look in, an aquarium, an all around fun time!

My absolute favorite place to go. All kinds of cool shops but my #1 is and will always be the fairy store. All types of figurines, shirts and jewelry that I'll never part with. Great for self indulgence and gifts.

It was fun. Lot of interesting menus all in one place and an interesting array of stores. Many of them are carrying the same exact things. The sea lions are not to be missed!! A bit tourist trappy but a nice experience

Always a nice little spot to visit when in San Francisco. It could be a little less crowded but it definitely portrays the city vibe. Tons of little shops to visit and buy some Knick knacks. Delicious seafood restaurants along the water (as well as regular restaurants). There was a performer(juggling, telling jokes, balancing on things) entertaining the crowd and also incorporating the crowd in his acts which was very amusing. There’s a little whiff of the seals but it’s always comical watching them lounge as tourists are snapping pictures.

Wonderful time! Enjoyed seeing all of the sea lions! The big guys wrestling for the cows and one would splash off into the water! So much noise from the barking and socializing - just delightful! Bling Blinky of Texas Shout Out: Family fun site to visit!

Pretty nifty. Not as exciting as I remember being a kid. Loads of food spots and a good amount of souvenir shops. If you're coming through, remember to stop in at: We Be Knives for any and all of your sharp pointy needs.

Loved it!! We parked in a lot fairly close.Short walk and we were there. The water was awesome, the seals were sun bathing and vocal. You can see Alcatraz from the pier.Plenty of food options, and shops galore. We stayed a few hours but could easily do the entire day.I would recommend going.

Very pleasant walk through the pier. It offered a lot of shops including ice cream shops, donuts, gift shops/jewelry etc... pretty cool atmosphere. At the end of the pier you can get a very nice view of the Alcatraz island and the bay areas. Around the corner you can watch sea lions bath in the sun.

Pier 39 is my favorite place in SF. I would recommend this place for anyone coming with children. This place was magical for me as a child and I come and visit for the nostalgic feel every year. I would highly recommend checking out the aquarium, followed by going to the mirror house. I finish my trip at the pier by grabbing a crepe and eating it looking at the dock and the ocean.

Must visit place in San Francisco. It is more than just a pier. It is a cool place for shopping, eating, entertainment and more. There are a lot of different stores, restaurants, cafes here. Some stores offer pretty good discounts. You can also find here an art gallery, spa, The Aquarium of the Bay (a great attraction for the whole family) and even the spot from where you can watch Sea Lions.

This is not only a tourist heaven in San Francisco but also a great place for locals to spend their time. Pier 39 has something for everyone. There are several unique restaurants, gift shops. In fact there is a weekly farmers market in this location. You can also see a great view of Alcatraz Island from here. A must visit place in San Francisco.

Such a fun place right next to the harbor! The pier aesthetic comes through in the woodwork and styles of the shops. It's mostly touristy in terms of attraction material but it is still a nice outdoor space to hang out for several hours.

Fun and full of people everywhere so expect lines and wait times for restaurant especially on weekends. We are locals and do enjoy the touristy day here. Lots to see and take in. Its typical cool so prepare extra sweatshirt or jacket. Parking is very limited, recommend using Uber or walk. Tourist type gifts everywhere and food are very tasty.

This is a place for the whole family, or just the young partiers, or the mature diner. It really does offer something for everyone. Real fun environment, perfect, for a family breakfast lunch or early Dinner. There are options for late groups that want a more lively scene.

Five stars for being the best tourist trap in San Francisco. Pier 39 is nothing but unique restaurants, one of a kind shops and an game arcade. Great place to walk around and watch people. The view of the water from the pier are worth seeing and taking a few pictures. The street artist and performers add to the ambiance. Place almost always packed and parking can be tricky. I'm a local and keep coming back. I know it's tourist trap, which is why I guess I keep coming back.

A fun pier with lots of shops and food places. Outlets in the visitor center are a lifesaver. Sea lions are cute but are they free to leave or trapped in the enclosure? The hustle and bustle of people makes this place feel energetic. Nice view of the Bay as well.

Quintessential tourist attraction for local and international travelers. At Pier 39 you can see sea lions fighting for their turf. A backdrop of Golden Gate bridge makes it all worthwhile.

First time experience with the kiddos, just before the closure. They loved it. With the rides, games and comedy show, it had them wanted to come back. Pricey yes... But worth the trip! Fun for Everyone.

Deserves a nice walk throughout and really a great place to visit. If you haven't been, do it at least once. Coming to the Pier during a weeknight in the fall and winter provides some great rest and relaxation with very minimal traffic.

In this area, Pier 39 seems to really stand out. It sticks out into the sea and has the single largest concentration of shopping, food and bars on a single pier in the whole district! This place is especially great for late evenings. Watch the sun go down. Or, walk around and enjoy its carnival-like spirit. There's a great carousel in the middle that really lights up at night. In any case, if you walk far enough out, you can watch the lights come on in all of Francisco from here! Awesome! [Also pretty awesome decor and lighting - Check out the shadow play on the ground here in the picture I posted!]

A fun place to visit! Of course everything is a little pricey, but reasonable prices wouldn't be very touristy would it? Also great views of the sea lions from level 2!

Really nice place to walk. The shops are all really cool to look at and browse. The sea lions were nice to look at as well, their platforms made sure we could view them easily. Lots of people though and some shops are expensive.

Touristy place with a lot of shops and restaurants, probably most known for the sea lions.Didn’t get to spend a lot of tome here as we had a lot to cram into our short stay in SF, but after a delicious lunch at Fog Harbor we strolled through, took on the views and finally visited the sea lions. It’s surpassingly entertaining to watch the dominant ones battle for positions on the dock.

Great place to check out, fun shops, good food. They have live music here occasionally and you can always check out the seal as they like to hangout under the pier. We spent a couple hours here just walking around and taking it all in. Parking in the area is a nightmare so be prepared for that, but if you can overcome that it’s a cool place to check out.

Pier 39 is a great place. When you start walking you have no clue that you're going to find such an amazing place, full of any kind of stores, from souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, chocolates, and besides the shipping you can do, there are many restaurants for all different tastes. At the end, on the bay side, you can see the impressive Golden Gate Bridge from the distance. Pier 39 is an opened shopping mall. Definitely a must when you visit SFO.

Probably the highlight of SF if you love the ocean. It’s got a lot of amenities, places to eat, and shops. There are some tourist traps, but not too many. The rides are okay, nothing too special, but you can’t give it a high expectation. The seals you see are fun to watch, and the whole experience is really fun to just walk around in.

What a wonderful little spot! There is a lot of great food, interesting shops, and depending on the time of year, you'll get to see the seals! There is a great little comedy and juggling act. A wonderful Christmas store. And beautiful views of the bay. There is even an aquarium! Spend the day, a few hours, whatever time you like! My husband and I did, it was well worth it!

Lived in California for a long time, but ALWAYS love coming down & seeing what is new on Pier 39. Hitting the candy store before leaving for the day is a MUST DO each time we go! Love to eat @ all the restaurants too!

This place hasn't changed much other than adding a new ride at the pier for kids. I wish the bathrooms were more accessible or just make more bathrooms. That would make it a better experience for all the people that go visit the pier. It could definitely use a good upgrade all around as well.

The pier is beautiful, but its popularity makes it less attractive. Too many people. Too much junk food. It would not be bad for a change to make at least one restaurant with quality food and service.

It's San Francisco, how can you not love San Francisco!? Raised in northern California all my life so the typical tourist spots is where my parents would take us growing up. So now that I'm older I've been there so many times it's nothing new to me, plus I know every inch of San Francisco know and prefer other locations in the city. But it is still a highlighted check point in the city and still fun to go pop up at occasionally

This is a fun spot and a definite must-see when visiting SFO. The sea lions are a real treat and we watched them intently for a solid half hour! Lots of shops and places to eat. We just snacked and love the ice cream and chocolate shops. There was a magic shop that was amazing!! Browse around aimlessly and you will be quite entertained. Good spot for souvenirs too. Live music was also playing which was great and the views of the bay and bridge were amazing. Check it out!!

Had mixed feelings about this place on our way to visit as we read a lot of different views on it. We loved it ! Lots to do here. Spent a week in San Francisco and most of our free time was spent here. Loved the sea lions, all the restaurants, lots of shopping. Tourist thing for sure but it was great. Even the street performers were awesome.

Fisherman's and pier 39 are a place to go to when in San Francisco. It is just a lovely and fun place, my suggestion is wake up early and just do all things a tourist should do. It will all be worth it at the end of the day. More working and if you like to cycle then do that. I walked for 4 to 5 hours and I totally enjoyed it. Obviously, with breaks to have lunch and drinks

Lively atmosphere during weekends. Must watch is sea lions lounging on the docks, do not carry any food in hand while watching them though, there are tons of seagulls circling around. A bird pulled a tray of fries I had in hand and dropped it to the deck below. Lots of places serving Clam Chowder, crab and other sea food. There's usually a street artist ( magicians/jugglers) performing for public.

I enjoy hanging out here with my daughter when we don't have plans or she has a friend to invite. Either way, always finding something new. Nice place to people watch, listen to music, or watch some magic tricks. Oh don't forget to see the sea lions. They're a show of their own.
